Ways to Keep Your Work Going

It is impossible to do creative work without inspiration. Whether you’re trying to come up with a design or write an article, you definitely need some fresh and interesting insights. So, if you’re struggling a little bit and feel like you have drained your imagination and ran out of ideas, take a moment to read this post.
Here are a few tips on how to find inspiration and keep your work going:

Listen to yourself

You have more creative ideas in your head than you think. Make sure you carry around a notebook or a sketchpad with you, since you never know when you may get your next genius idea. It’s a known fact that best ideas always come when you least expect them, and they seem to have a super short life span, so be on guard and write them down!

Dare to Dream

If you have found yourself in the middle of the creativity crisis, sit down close your eyes and let your imagination take the lead. Think outside the box, try to look at things from a different perspective. It may not only help, it’s also fun to see what you are actually capable of.

Go out for a walk

Get some fresh air and clear your head. There are tons of things that can inspire you outside. Mountains, rivers, ocean, trees, etc. Pay closer attention to people surrounding you, kids playing, pets running around. Go to the mall, pay attention to the stores, clothes, interior, and don’t forget to have fun.

Social networks

Socializing can be both fun and productive. Sometimes people can inspire you without even realizing it. Status updates, pictures, things they say to you. You can even start a discussion which will help you get new ideas.

Get some sleep

Maybe that’s what you’re lacking in the first place. You can’t be sleep deprived and expect inspiration. Lie down for a nap, get some rest. You may actually dream something that may inspire you.

Visit an art gallery or museum

What can serve as a source of inspiration better than art. Check out sculptures, paintings, pictures they may give you ideas that you haven’t thought of before. Everything genius is very simple.

Change your work place

Sometimes when you’re stuck at home or in your office looking at a blank screen ahead of you and waiting for ideas to come, you may actually be suppressing them. Go to a coffee shop or out to a park and try to work there. Don’t be afraid to get distracted!

Watch funny videos

They don’t have to be funny per se. Although, if you’re watching a video that’s giving you positive emotions, you may come up with something that may help you move away from that dead-end.

Do something new

Experiencing new things is always fun. You get new feelings, new associations. So, maybe doing something that you have been wanting to do for awhile, but didn’t dare to will help you find that missing piece of the puzzle.

Remember to enjoy

Remember that whatever you’re creating should come from your heart. If the whole process is painful and you feel like you’re not moving anywhere, then maybe you should just come back to it a little later and continue what you have started but with positive attitude.

Please share ways that have helped you get inspiration. Your input is always greatly appreciated.
