The Best of Spring 2017: Tutorials, Freebies, and the Latest News!


Spring has sprung. While most people are busy planning their summer fun, we’ve been hard at work scouring the net for the most important news, demos, design inspiration and freebies for web designers and developers. Here’s what we found.


Like butterflies emerging from their cocoons, some of our favs released major updates this Spring.

Sketch 44. Sketch 44 is now available and it’s not in beta anymore. Yes, the world truly is a better place. The Artboard picked got an overhaul so their content now resizes automatically as the board is resized, there’s a new way to handle missing fonts, and the correlation between what you can achieve in Sketch and do in CSS is greater than ever.

jQuery 3.2. Sketch isn’t the only one with a new release. jQuery 3.2.0 is here and it includes some bug fixes as well as adding back the deprecated module to slim built and adding support for custom CSS properties.

MS Fluent Design. Microsoft’s Fluent Design System is officially here. Use it and your Windows apps are going to look better. Fluent is ready for any device, from virtual reality to touch screens to devices with no display at all. Sound confusing? No worries, documentation is comprehensive and includes not only what to do but how to do it.

HubSpot and Salesforce Pardot Support. Email marketing just got easier. PSD2HTML now provides conversion services for HubSpot and Salesforce Pardot email templates. Easy as pies. Just give us your design and in one day get a pixel-perfect template.

From hover effects to animated scrolls to just a fun virtual garden, these must-sees are as fresh as the morning dew.

CSS Garden. Spring wouldn’t be complete without planting a garden. This virtual garden game lets you skip mucking in the dirt as you write CSS code to plant, water, and you’re your own carrot garden.

Liquid Button. Just for fun, check out this 60’s inspired liquid button. The hover effect literally goes with the flow.
